The book and companion stories

Rebecca Yarros’s official site presents Threshing Day as companion story content in the Empyrean world. Use the author’s current listing for the edition and publication details rather than assuming a retailer’s description applies everywhere.

It is distinct from the three main novels in our reading order guide. For a first read, we recommend catching up with those novels first. We do not publish an ISBN or edition comparison without an edition-specific source.

Threshing in the fictional world

Threshing is the dragon-bonding event in the fictional setting. It is part of the story world rather than a real-world appointment or a promise that a personality quiz can select a canonical dragon for you.

For an official fictional scene, the author’s Xaden point-of-view page provides supplementary reading. It contains story and bond reveals, so leave it until you are comfortable with spoilers.

The online experience

Dragonkind is the official online destination in this guide. Its public entrance is separate from the books, and its own instructions govern access.

Our dragon quiz is another separate experience: ten original situations leading to six original fan-made archetypes.
